Alyssa & Grant’s Library Engagement Session | Midtown Scholar Bookstore

When Alyssa and Grant shared the idea of having their engagement session in a library, I immediately loved it.

Engagement sessions should reflect who you are as a couple, and choosing a location that holds meaning makes the images even more special.

There is something beautiful about the symbolism of a library. Every book tells a story, and Alyssa and Grant are beginning a brand-new chapter of their own. As we wandered through the stacks and explored the space, we captured moments that felt authentic to them.

One of my favorite things about this session was how different it was from the traditional engagement shoot. While many couples choose open fields or parks, Alyssa and Grant chose a place that reflected their personalities and created photographs that truly feel like them. The result was a collection of images that are timeless, meaningful, and full of genuine emotion.

The soft light, cozy atmosphere, and endless shelves of books created the perfect backdrop for documenting this season of their lives. It was a reminder that the best engagement session locations aren’t always the most popular ones. Sometimes they’re the places that tell your story best.

Alyssa and Grant, thank you for inviting me into this chapter of your journey. It was such a joy capturing your love story in a place that means so much to you both. I cannot wait to photograph the next chapter on your wedding day.

Planning your own engagement session? Don’t be afraid to think outside the box. Whether it’s a library, your favorite coffee shop, the place you met, or somewhere that simply feels like home, the most meaningful locations often create the most memorable photographs.
