Some sessions are beautiful.

And some sessions mean something deeper.

This one was both.

When Unveil Salon reached out to collaborate on a Valentine’s Day giveaway, it wasn’t just about photos. It was about creating something that could truly bless someone in a hard season.

They partnered with Haj Paj Café for lunch and Palmyra Greenhouse for a bouquet, and I had the honor of capturing it all through photography. But what made this experience unforgettable wasn’t the vendors or even the session itself…

It was the story behind it.

Instead of a typical giveaway, people were asked to nominate someone they felt deserved to be loved on.

Hannah submitted a nomination for her best friend, Meaghan.

Meaghan had recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and was in the middle of treatment. She was supposed to be leaving for a two-month solo trip to Thailand, something exciting, freeing, and life-giving… but instead, she was home, fighting a battle she never asked for.

Hannah described her as strong, selfless, and the kind of person who is always there for others first.

And that right there… that’s the kind of person this giveaway was meant for.

A Day to Feel Seen

When Meaghan was chosen as the winner, everything came together to give her a day that was simply about her.

A moment to pause.

A moment to feel beautiful.

A moment to just breathe in the middle of everything she’s walking through.

From the thoughtful details by Unveil Salon, to a meal shared, to fresh flowers in her hands… every part of the day was intentional.

But what stood out the most?

Her strength.

As a photographer, I always say photos are more than just photos.

But sessions like this remind me why.

This wasn’t about perfectly posed images.

It wasn’t about lighting or locations.

It was about honoring someone’s story.

It was about capturing a moment in time where, even in the middle of something incredibly hard, there was still beauty… still joy… still love surrounding her.
